StrandsView Holiday Cottage

We stayed here in July with friends. Very spacious property inside with everything you could think of - even an air fryer which was so good we've just bought one!! Outside there is a garden house and multiple areas to sit out in and enjoy the wide views across the valley. So peaceful and quiet. Walks directly from the door. Weather was fantastic - we loved a G&T sun downer in the evening by the garden house. Will be back!

The perfect holiday! SrandsView really did have the most amazing view whatever the weather and from every window. The cottage was spectacular and had everything we needed - even a boot room ideal for all our boots and shoes for the week. We did some beautiful walks and we were very grateful for the StrandsView website with recommended walks. Each walk had a link to the ordnance survey map which meant we didn’t get lost! When the weather wasn’t quite so good there was still plenty to do; we visited Richmond and the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes, both well worth a visit. Overall it was a wonderful break and we will definitely be returning.

Love this place! Even in winter you can’t beat the view. Cosy comfortable inside, bracing walks from the door, excellent local pubs, table football. Parents, dog and even teenagers all happy!

We recently stayed at this holiday cottage in the Yorkshire Dales with my wife's family, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The views from the cottage were breathtaking, allowing us to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales right from the living room and garden. The house was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate six people and our two dogs, with plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. Additionally, the cottage served as an excellent base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, providing easy access to numerous scenic walking trails. However, there were some areas that need improvement. Although the cottage was advertised as luxurious, the decor was in need of attention, with noticeable cracks in the walls that detracted from the overall feel of the place. The headboards on the beds did not match the luxury promised, seeming a bit outdated and not contributing to the aesthetic we expected. Furthermore, we found that there were not enough toilet rolls provided for our stay, and there was a lack of cleaning products, such as cloths and spray, which made it difficult to maintain cleanliness during our visit. Additionally, many of the windows did not open because they were either locked or damaged, which was quite inconvenient. While the cottage is dog-friendly, it is important to note that dogs are only allowed in the kitchen, which limited their space to move around and be part of the family activities. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the cottage's potential. However, I wouldn't stay here again as you could probably find better accommodation for a lot less. With some updates and better provision of essentials, this could be an outstanding holiday destination. For now, I'd rate it a three out of five.

This was a fantastic location and the cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard and very clean we shall be going back .
