Excellent and honest work from this garage and I'll definitely be using them from now on. After two failed diagnostics from VW dealerships, that insisted the only way to repair my car was changing all 4 wheel bearings and sensors as they couldn't say which was faulty, Halifax Auto Tech diagnosed one rear bearing and sensor as faulty and the repair cost almost a tenth of what both dealerships wanted (VW Pulman's Durham and VW JCT600 Bradford). Do not hesitate in taking your pride and joy to these guys. Thank you!

I had called this garage to book a full service on behalf of my sister for her recently purchased car. I explained she’d been having issues with the windscreen wiper motor, which they said they couldn’t look at for at least two weeks. As she needed it sorting sooner, we had that repaired elsewhere and booked this garage purely for the full service and full vehicle inspection, as clearly advertised on their website. I chose this garage based on the positive reviews here and on other platforms. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing like what others had described. My sister dropped the car off herself. When she later went to collect it, she found the staff to be abrupt and dismissive. She attempted to ask them basic questions about what had been done, especially since this was a newly purchased vehicle, but they did not explain anything in detail. She left feeling confused, particularly regarding the pricing, as she was told only the oil filter was changed and it sounded more like a basic service, yet the price did not match that level of work. She tried to ask again whether anything else had been picked up in the full inspection, and again, the staff were vague and offered no breakdown or explanation. It left her very unsure about what she had actually paid for. She called me in frustration, and I rang the garage myself to get clarification. When I called, I was polite and asked why my sister was confused about the service. The mechanic immediately said, “Everything’s on the paper – we gave her the invoice, look at it yourself,” in a rude and dismissive tone. I responded calmly that there was no need for rudeness as I was just trying to understand what had been done. Instead of clarifying, they became defensive and argumentative. I raised a fair point about the brake pads, as they were not changed, despite this being expected in a full service. The mechanic replied, “We’ve never known a full service to include brake pads.” I’ve never come across a garage that offers a full service and not include brake pads being replaced. It felt like they were trying to get us to book them again just for brake pads separately in a week or so as they just said that they’re worn out. Frustrated, I drove down to the garage with my sister. I pointed out that the plastic cap near the windscreen wiper was still loose, even though the motor had been previously repaired and they had charged for a full inspection. The mechanic just said, “That’s not included,” and then pulled it into place in front of me in two seconds – something that clearly should have been done without question. It showed a real lack of care. When I asked about what was actually inspected in terms of the wiper motor or anything else, the mechanic could not provide any technical or detailed explanation. For a job that was advertised as a full inspection, this left us feeling very unsure and dissatisfied. What made things worse was the condescending behaviour of the owner. When I asked again about the brake pads, he smirked and turned to his staff, asking sarcastically in front of us if they’d ever heard of brake pads being changed in a full service – as if to mock or belittle me for simply asking a reasonable question. At that point, it felt like they didn’t even want us as customers. The way we were treated was disrespectful and unprofessional. There was no care to explain, no attempt to clarify what had been done, and absolutely no appreciation for basic customer service. They charged a premium price, but we certainly did not receive a premium service. To be clear, I am not writing this review to reclaim any money or demand compensation. We chose this garage in good faith based on reviews, and had hoped it would become my sister’s regular go-to place. Sadly, this will never happen. This review is simply to warn others – if you want a garage that values honesty, clear communication, and quality customer care, avoid this place.

Amazing experience getting mechanical work done on my Audi and will be returning for any future work. They are very (rightly so) busy, so had to book in 2 weeks after initial diagnostics to get the work done which was completed to a high standard. Steve and James were great in explaining the work that was done and James offered great advice on some aftercare bits regarding DPF and coolant levels. Also included a health inspection (provided foolproof checklist of everything inspected) which I hadn’t asked for but received which was a welcome surprise.

A true and in some ways better alternative to main dealerships. These guys are knowledgeable and happy to talk and advise customers. And it doesn't hurt that their prices are well below those of main dealers. I had the brake sensor issue and they sorted it within 20 mins, squeezing my car in this morning. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

The whole experience from start to finish was very professional , called Friday afternoon, dropped car off Monday morning and all works required completed in the same day. The mechanics explained what had to be replaced and why and at a price that was very reasonable. They even added window washer fluid which was flashing low on the dashboard. Would recommend and will return if needed.
