Went here today with my sons bmx. Totally clueless about bikes but the staff were amazing! Helpful and honest. Told me what the issue was (giro brake) what it needed and a price upfront! Also honest when I asked for a check on everything being as tight as it should be (i put the bike together and not confident was all tightened correctly) told me they would be dismanteling the parts anyway so no need to pay for extra service of a check. Messaged me after i had left explaining how needed to replace a part in order to fix the issue! And what would cost to ensure i was happy with it befor they did it. All done in a couple of hours and I have a very happy boy who can now safely play on his bike again! Would recommend 1000x over too anyone! Amazing service and honesty for the start! THANK YOU!!

I’ve been using Shay Cycles for a few years now and just bought a bike for my son for Christmas. They even part exchanged his old bike against the new one which was great. I feel a valued customer and the service they provide has always been great. They’ve serviced my bike a few times , very reasonable pricing. They have a wide variety of bikes to suit all budgets , would recommend Shay cycles if you don’t want to spend the Halfords type pricing for new bikes. I’ll continue to shop there for my children’s bikes as I know I’ll get a good quality bike that’s been serviced. Very recommended! 😊

Bought my boys bike from here. Staff are so helpful and the shop its self is like an Aladdins cave. So many bikes to choose from. Gave the staff all the details of what I was after and sizes and within a couple of minutes they had bikes down for me to look at. Prices were half what you would pay at bigger outlets and a lot more choices. Will definitely be back in the future for either services, repairs or his next bike. Cannot recommend this little shop enough.

⭐ 1 Star — Deeply Disappointing Experience My recent experience with Shay Cycles Halifax was extremely disappointing. The level of customer service was virtually non-existent, and when I did receive a response, it was discourteous, dismissive, and verging on aggressive. As a paying customer, I expected a degree of professionalism and respect — neither of which were evident. Simple questions were met with impatience and hostility, creating an atmosphere that felt entirely unwelcoming. It’s disheartening to see a local business show such disregard for the very people who keep it running. Customer care should be the foundation of any service-based business, yet Shay Cycles seems to have forgotten that entirely. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone seeking quality service or a positive retail experience. There are plenty of other cycle shops locally that treat their customers with the courtesy and professionalism that’s sorely lacking here. Edit At no time did I question or dispute your pricing. My review was entirely about how I was treated — your behaviour, not the cost. I only said I had thought the quoted price was for both discs, and I even said I was mistaken, but you wouldn’t let me explain. I never claimed the discs were replaced elsewhere for £20 two months ago — I said they were three months old, and that you had replaced them previously, which I believed cost £20. Your public response, including personal insults and threats to post my image online, unfortunately proves the exact point of my original review. Be aware that publishing my image or personal details without consent would breach UK Data Protection and GDPR laws, and could also be considered defamatory.

A really good local bike shop. They went over and above to help me with a bike for my 11 year old. They know what they are doing talking about and made sure I chose the right bike for my needs. When we crashed! They were blue to fix my brakes on the spot. Really good at recommending what bike to get in the future too. Would recommend 100%. Thanks again for all your help and will be. Back for my next bike
