Bookkeeper
<p><strong>Bookkeeper, Harrogate, £35,000-£40,000</strong></p> <p>An established, owner-managed professional company based in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to to join their friendly and collaborative team.</p> <p>This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a growing business. You’ll work closely with the Directors and external Auditors, manage one direct report, and contribute to improving financial processes across the organisation.</p> <p>This is a full-time position offering hybrid working (one day per week from home). Slightly reduced hours can also be considered for the right candidate.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Day-to-day bookkeeping</li><li>Bank reconciliations</li><li>Processing and paying invoices</li><li>Chasing customer payments</li><li>Submitting quarterly VAT returns</li><li>Implementing new finance processes and procedures to improve efficiency</li><li>Liaising with external auditors (who manage payroll, year-end accounts and tax)</li></ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous accountancy experience within an SME</li><li>Strong IT skills (experience with Xero highly desirable)</li><li>Ability to work independently and use your own initiative</li><li>Team player with a collaborative approach</li></ul> <p><strong>Working Hours & Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>9:00am - 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)</li><li>Reduced hours considered</li><li>One day per week working from home</li><li>On-site parking</li><li>Critical health cover</li></ul> <p>If you’re looking for a varied and hands-on role within a supportive environment where your input will make a real impact, this could be the role for you.
