If so, this senior paraplanner role could be your next career move.</p> <p>Ideally, this role is for an individual who has obtained chartered status, but if you have a wealth of experience in a technical paraplanner role, we would love to hear from you.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Technical Paraplanning &amp; Analysis</strong></p> <ul> <li>Produce high-quality, compliant suitability reports across pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning.</li><li>Carry out complex technical calculations, including: <ul> <li>Offshore and onshore bond calculations</li><li>Chargeable event gain analysis &amp; top slicing relief</li><li>Carry forward, pension annual allowance, and tapered annual allowance calculations</li></ul> </li><li>Support advisers with: <ul> <li>Pension crystallisation strategies</li><li>Retirement income and tax-free cash planning</li><li>Investment and portfolio structuring</li><li>Intergenerational and estate planning</li></ul> </li><li>Analyse, recommend, and assist with the purchase of gilts considering yield, maturity, and suitability</li><li>Keep abreast of legislative, regulatory, and tax changes, applying them pragmatically to client advice</li></ul> <p><strong>Trusts &amp; Estate Planning</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide advanced technical support across UK trust structures, including: discretionary, bare, interest in possession, loan, and discounted gift trusts</li><li>Support advisers with trust income tax, capital gains tax, periodic and exit charges, and trust registration/reporting</li><li>Assist with trust-based investment planning and suitability</li><li>Act as a technical reference point on complex estate and succession planning cases</li></ul> <p><strong>Research, Compliance &amp; Process</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct detailed product and fund research</li><li>Prepare cashflow models, projections, and technical appendices</li><li>Ensure all advice meets FCA requirements, internal standards, and best practice</li><li>Work independently to manage complex cases end-to-end</li><li>Contribute to ongoing improvement of paraplanning processes, templates, and technical frameworks</li></ul> <p><strong>Mentoring &amp; Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as a senior technical resource for advisers and paraplanners</li><li>Review work produced by junior paraplanners</li><li>Provide guidance, coaching, and technical mentoring</li><li>Help maintain high technical and professional standards across the business</li></ul> <p><strong>About You: Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Chartered Financial Planner (CII) status achieved (Ideally)</li><li>10&#43; years’ paraplanning experience within a UK IFA firm</li><li>Strong, hands-on experience with: offshore/onshore bonds, chargeable event gains, gilts, pension allowance calculations, and UK trust structures</li><li>Excellent knowledge of UK pensions, investments, and personal/trust/estate taxation</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality written communication</li><li>Able to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines</li><li>Genuine enthusiasm for paraplanning as a long-term career</li><li>Comfortable mentoring and supporting junior paraplanners</li></ul> <p><strong>What’s on Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Salary: &#163;50,000 - &#163;60,000 (depending on experience)</li><li>Very generous bonus structure</li><li>26 days’ holiday plus bank holidays</li><li>Death in Service: 4x salary</li><li>Critical Illness Cover: 1x salary</li><li>Professional, supportive, and technically focused culture</li><li>4 company socials per year, including reward-based events (e.g., fully funded staff ski trips)</li><li>A firm that genuinely values technical expertise and paraplanning as a profession</li></ul> <p><strong>Why should you apply?</strong></p> <p>This is a rare opportunity to join a firm where <strong>technical excellence is respected, paraplanners are central to client outcomes, and experience is genuinely valued</strong>.
