<strong>Conveyancing Assistant / Paralegal</strong><strong>Part Time - Maternity Cover (3 days a week)</strong> <p><br /></p> <p>A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a <strong> Part-Time Conveyancing Assistant / Paralegal</strong> to join its Residential Property team on a maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal support professional to join a busy and supportive conveyancing department.</p> <strong>The Role</strong> <p><br /></p> <p>Working closely with Fee Earners and reporting directly into the department, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the management and progression of residential conveyancing matters. The position requires a proactive, highly organised individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.</p> <p>This is a part-time position, working <strong>three days per week</strong>.</p> <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong> <ul> <li>Assisting Fee Earners with the day-to-day management and progression of residential conveyancing files</li><li>File opening and client onboarding, including compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations</li><li>Preparing completion documents for review prior to submission to accounts</li><li>Drafting bills and completion statements</li><li>Ordering property searches</li><li>Processing Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns</li><li>Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, and other third parties via telephone and email</li><li>Handling incoming calls and email enquiries</li><li>Ensuring files are maintained accurately and up to date</li><li>General administrative support including scanning, filing, and document preparation</li><li>Supporting colleagues and providing cover where required</li></ul> <strong>Candidate Profile</strong> <p>The firm is seeking a candidate who demonstrates:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal (ideally within residential conveyancing)</li><li>Strong working knowledge of conveyancing procedures</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>High levels of accuracy and attention to detail</li><li>Strong organisational and time management skills</li><li>The ability to multitask and reprioritise effectively in a busy environment</li><li>Competency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)</li><li>An understanding of client care and compliance procedures</li></ul> <p><br /></p>
