Don’t get the hate. Overall decent shop in a busy town centre and has loads of items compared to the usual Express style shops. Obviously it’s an ASDA so some of the quality is quite cheap but you also find some good deals too. Complaints is that the radio is far too loud and annoying that makes me not want to go. Like it doesn’t make you want to shop just makes you pissed off. Staff often chatting & will look at you like “do not ask us for help rn” but generally overall pretty helpful, think there’s so many staff it sort of has its own mini society, quite interesting to see which staff are talking to each other lol. And lastly they change a lot of shelves around so you go in and the bread has been moved to a different place, and pretty big and the signage and layout and placement of items doesn’t feel intuitive, so you have to ask staff or waste 5-10 mins walking down each aisle Overall pretty grateful to have this shop in the town centre 5 min walk from town. Oh & the WiFi is great.

What an embarrassment of a supermarket to the point it’s laughable and many other people think so, if I could give it 0 stars I would. What a joke to state there’s been exciting new changes like what? some poxy lighting that is blinding to the point you feel like a deer in headlights, some dark green walls added which makes it look even worse than it already looks with dirty floors that stink of grim mop water it just shows the floor up. Ridiculously placed isles that make no sense whatsoever when trying to find items, try actually selling new items it’s so behind on stock updates compared to the other supermarkets. It’s the worst shop and unfortunately closest one to me but I will not be shopping here anymore nor will a lot of people I’ve discussed this with, the music is way too loud and as an autistic person it’s so overwhelming. You claim to have a quiet hour to help with those with neurodivergence but when even is it cuz it’s bad in Asda all the time what on earth is one hour going to do, what’s the need for blasting loud music? You’ve got staff leaving online shop trolleys right in the middle of isles making it difficult to get past especially for those partially sighted. Staff stood chatting at the self service whilst red lights are flashing and allowing those with trolleys to pay at BASKET AREAS making it longer to wait and harder to squeeze in, don’t get me started on the self service tills that you’ve got to man handle to get it to accept your change and with gift cards it doesn’t even scan it. You’ve got one massive line of card only tills so why then do you need to sometimes change the cash and card ones to card only? why not update the self service tills instead of doing all the other pathetic addons to try save the car crash of a shop. Even worse how disgusting as a supermarket placing alcohol RIGHT along the pay area for those who are recovering from alcohol abuse to have it RIGHT in their face where they have to pay, it’s appalling and extremely overwhelming for a person with addiction and I’m ashamed that you’ve used that as a money making thing!!! anyone would need a drink after scrambling around such a overwhelming anxiety ridden store. Only recently on bilton community have people been saying how diabolical the layout and also speaking on how people with autism and migraines are struggling with the lighting. Like I said I will not be shopping here again.

On a visit to Harrogate so in the store for the first time, I asked various store staff where items were incidentally all male, very friendly and helpful but at the self scan a young lady seemed more interested in her appearance and not helpful at all. A lesson in customer service needed.

Rude and patronising. And very slow service without an apolgy. Not all of the staff are like this but the lady who served me didn't know what eRD was and tried to blame me for my medication not being available when it was clearly a GP and pharmacy issue. Every month I have had problems so I have now changed pharmacy as I just want a convenient way to pick up my monthly medication.
