Pybus Newsagents

This is my favourite shop in Boroughbridge. It reminds me very much of how newsagents used to be when I was a young 'un. Not only a great selection of papers and magazines, but also cards, wrapping paper, balloons etc. Not forgetting confectionery, stationery, and large selection of toys and jigsaws. Staff are all brilliant and so helpful. Great local shop.

I phoned to ask what was needed to send a UPS Parcel. I was told that I needed to bring the parcel and copies of 3 invoices for the contents. I did this. At the shop I presented the parcel and 3 copies of the invoice. I was told that one copy of the invoice should be inside the now sealed parcel. I went home, undid the parcel, printed a new label, put one copy of the invoice inside the parcel and resealed everything. I took the parcel and 2 invoices to the shop. I raised the issue of the waste of time caused by being given inadequate information - an hour and half in total - and was told in no uncertain terms that I was the one at fault. No apology was offered, only self justification which was inexcusable. This total incompetence is unbelievable. The customer is always wrong! I am never using a shop with this lamentable manner and attitude again. I only hope for them that this is a one off and that they treat other customers with more care. My star rating is one but that is not to register any satisfaction whatsoever. They then refused to take my parcel, which may have been because of my incredulity at being treated so badly. .

Sells everything! Open early! Staff are always helpful and friendly. My son loves to visit with his pennies

A really good newsagents staff really nice and helpful an emporium of all sorts stationary, books, children's toys, wool, confectionary, watch battery service, oh and mags and newspapers.... a delight 😊
