Amazing day from start to finish boys absolutely loved it .. Great weekend for camping Will definitely be going again .. We purchased tickets on the day inside on the tablets Make sure you sign your waivers before hand then there’s no waiting brilliant day so it you won’t be disappointed
Really good site, relaxed, big pitches, great open spaces, excellent for young kids with 2 little parks, field next door, skate park close by, decent little shop, water activities were good once you find someone to get you on them. We hired a katakanu for 6 of us and all jumped off for a swim in the lake, some went on the waterpark which was great fun! Bathrooms were generally kept clean but would advise taking your own toilet rolls with you! Kids had a great time!! Overall we all (5 families with kids ranging from 5-15) had a fantastic weekend here and will return.
We attended bank holiday Monday. Completed the aqua park and family paddle boarding. Aqua park and paddle boarding was brilliant the kids loved it and have not stopped talking about it since. My main concern is lack of grassed areas for viewing areas or places to have picnics. There are signs all over not permitting food drink to consumed inside that haven’t been bought from there. The summer holiday is pricey enough and after spending over £140 for a family of 6 I’ll think we’d be able to take our own picnic. Considering we have 3 kids on the spectrum that need their safe foods. And been told to go sit in the car park by management… Overall the site facilities could be better and far more family friendly. Next time I shall definitely be travelling the 30 mins extra to Rother valley where it’s a much nicer view, a chance of a walk and lovely picnic in the sun with our family in between any activities we book. We shall not be returning.
The natural pool was disgusting! It's not a roped off area but a completely enclosed area within the lake and so was full of stagnant water. Weedy and very unpleasant. A shame as the lake appeared clean, but you aren't allowed to swim in that bit. Would not return. Recommend Poolbridge near York as a far superior alternative!
Beware of the management here. I paid for 3 tickets for my daughter, her friend and I to go. My daughter broke her toe last week which means we can no longer attend. We live nearly an hour away. I have tried to re-book for when she is fit but they refused. They will only refund her ticket meaning I am £42 plus petrol out of pocket and am expected to take somebody else’s child to the park whilst my injured daughter stays at home or watches on. What a way for a publicly owned enterprise to behave. Shame on them!
