Today, I underwent surgery at my workplace. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team who provided exceptional care during my stay. The receptionist expertly managed the administrative aspects of my surgery. The OPD and Anaesthesiologist, Mr. Moore, ensured that I slept well and underwent a painless surgery. The Recovery Nurses, Digna, Lyndsey, and the Ward Nurse, Charlotte, and HCA Michelle, ensured a smooth and comfortable aftercare procedure. The porters, Andy and Khaled, were instrumental in facilitating my movement and comfort during the surgery. The hostess, Christine, provided me with a delightful sandwich and hot chocolate, which greatly enhanced my experience. The physiotherapist, Nicky, guided me through a series of exercises and mobility exercises, which significantly improved my recovery. To my surgeon, Mr. Owen Wall, I am astounded by the swiftness of the surgery. I was awakened from the recovery room and immediately transferred to the ward. I am deeply appreciative of the successful procedure, which allowed me to return home promptly. To the theatre nurses, thank you as well. Additionally, I extend my gratitude to Sofeena from our pharmacist for expediting the delivery of my medication. I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to my friends and colleagues who visited me during my recovery. Their presence provided emotional support and helped alleviate my anxiety. To B2 Charlotte, our former scrub nurse, I am incredibly grateful for your unwavering support and companionship. Finally, I want to express my profound love and appreciation to my wife, Grace, who took a week off from her work to be by my side and provide me with personal assistance and care. Thank you very much, Nuffield Leeds Hospital!

A massive thank you to the whole team at the Nuffield. From referral to my initial consultation through to my op and after care the process was seamless, incredibly reassuring and done with care and expertise. Particular mention for the consultant/surgeon Dr Hahnel and his assistant Laura. The operation and subsequent recovery exceeded my expectations and the outcome is amazing. Also to the care team, nurses, caterers, administrators and post op physiotherapist (Anthony) thank you for your warmth, compassion and care. At every step the friendly nature of the staff contributed to a positive experience and gave me absolute confidence in their professionalism and ability.

I recently underwent reconstructive knee surgery at Nuffield Leeds, involving ACL, MCL, and meniscus repair – and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment I made contact I was put at ease and felt reassured that I would be looked after. During my initial consultation, Mr Owen Wall, was friendly, professional and clearly explained everything that would happen throughout my time with them. He was honest about the extent of my injuries and was able to help me with my concerns and made me feel at ease. I was able to contact him outside of consultations and his secretary Elaine was also friendly and helpful during this time. I also underwent physiotherapy before surgery, and my physiotherapist, Jen, provided an excellent programme of exercise to help me prepare for surgery so my long-term recovery would be better. She was attentive, listened to my issues and was able to keep me motivated even when I found it challenging. In advance of surgery, I had a pre-assessment, Nams the nurse made me feel really comfortable and did it with good humour. On the day of surgery, I was welcomed by friendly staff and quickly shown to my room. I was looked after really well by the nursing staff Carlo and Anitha who prepared me for surgery, and they made it clear that “nothing was too much trouble” and that they were there for me if I needed. Mr Wall saw me again before surgery and again went over the procedure to make sure I was happy with everything. The anaesthetist came to visit me also and put me at ease and gave me plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Nyima the ODP ensured that I was comfortable and ensured that I was well informed whilst I was anaesthetised. I would also like to express my sincere thank you to the theatre team for doing the operation unfortunately I do not know their names. In recovery Lyndsey was the nurse who looked after me and the level of care she provided was exceptional. I was in recovery for nearly two hours and felt 100% safe and looked after. It felt like she gave me the type of reassurance and care that a parent would give their child. I found this to be helpful at this tricky time. When she felt I was ready, and only when she was sure I was ok, did she say I was ready to go back to the ward. Please can you ensure that Lyndsey’s manager is aware of how brilliant she was. Back in the room, the staff ensured I was safe and secure the excellent level of care continued throughout the evening. The night nurse Andy also made sure that I was comfortable and had plenty of pain relief when I required it and nothing was too much for him. On the following day the excellent care continued by Phabe my nurse and the in-patient physio-therapist Becky came to help me start moving and to go through my initial post-surgery exercises. She was supportive and careful not to push too far too soon. She gave me enough confidence to start moving safely and feel comfortable with the exercises for home. She demonstrated how to use crutches safely, supported me with some home tips Becky went above and beyond for me again please can you let Becky’s manager know so they can share this with her. Rehabilitation support has been excellent and both Becky and Jen are knowledgeable and encouraging, with tailored exercises and clear goals. I felt, and will continue to feel, confident that my recovery is in safe hands. The facilities were outstanding. My room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, more like a city hotel than a hospital. The food was a pleasant surprise: a wide selection of high-quality meals that catered to different tastes and dietary needs. Overall, Nuffield Leeds delivers high-quality care with compassion and precision by all members of the team. If you're facing surgery, especially something as complex as knee reconstruction, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Arrival and check in was smooth. Taken to ward by friendly professional staff. Anaesthetist came quickly and we had a discussion on what I’d prefer, general or nerve block. Surgeon then came to go over procedure and talk about recovery; both really professional but friendly. Operation felt safe and efficient, I was awake so chatted to anaesthetist and surgeon at suitable times. Everyone was so friendly, which I hadn’t quite expected. Recovery room was efficient, then back to ward for a cuppa. Nurse and health care assistant couldn’t do enough, checking on comfort, wound and needs. Lovely sandwich and another cuppa. Discharge efficient and smooth. Whilst Im hoping no more operations, it was a really positive experience.

I had the best experience for surgery yesterday. The care and communication from Mr Cockbain and anesthetist Tes pre and post op was excellent and the nursing team of Kylie, Luby and Allyn were engaging making the process comfortable throughout. The car park team and reception were warm and friendly and my post op food arrived quickly. Thank you to all involved in my care.
