This place is the pits. From the day it opened, it has been plagued with ridiculous issues like no bags (what?) and inconsistent stock levels. There are ALWAYS big gaps on the shelves and in the fridges. This was never an issue when it was the Co Op, which demonstrates this is typical Asda mismanagement. The staff are also mediocre at best, and plain rude at worst. There is a very rude dark haired man (as mentioned in previous reviews) who clearly hates his job. May I suggest he seeks employment elsewhere? We don't want him there either. When it transitioned from Co Op to Asda, a few of the original staff remained but now, it seems anyone who was half decent have left. Another classic sign of Asda being a poor employer to work for. Almost every time I visit, there's a minor annoyance at best, or a major one. The latest issue seems to be that staff cannot grasp that empty baskets need to be put back out near the doors for customers. At least five times in the last fortnight I have stopped for petrol and gone in for a bit of shopping, only to find NO baskets at either of the two doors. No, they're stacked up in a massive mountain behind the tills. And this store is NOT heaving most of the time. Staff can be seen milling about in the aisles doing jobs that certainly shouldn't take priority over making sure customers can actually access a damned basket! The slack, lazy work ethic that is typical of Asda in general is quite evident to see in this store. The most recent joke has been a power cut four or five days ago, which resulted in pretty much everything in the fridges being cleared out. So five days later, those fridges are STILL empty. Seriously, who is responsible for dealing with deliveries? Surely it should be a number one priority to get those shelves filled again! Clearly not in this place, seems no one can be bothered to do what they're supposed to. I only go in this place now when I'm filling up my car. Otherwise I go to Sainsbury's or make the effort to go to Co Op in Hebden. This is last resort stuff. I also agree with previous reviews that the lack of a toilet is a bit odd. I'm local so it doesn't bother me but when I stop at petrol stations and express stores anywhere else when travelling, there's almost always a toilet. Just really lacking in every possible way.
Dangerous!! Exit view is blocked by 2 signs exactly at eye level. Normally you'd just tut and get on with your day but today I saw 2 almost full speed t-bone collisions where neither driver was at fault, along with another a few days ago. The fault lying squarely with the ridiculous positioning of the songs at the exit meaning it is impossible to pull out ina. Normal height car without sticking your nose into the road to see past them. Sort it out as you'll find you are at least partly liable in the car of a collision.
Genuine question to ASDA, HOW can you always run out of bags?! Today I planned to walk all the way to ASDA, which takes around 30min from where I am, to get some stuff and walk back. Just to find out that they have run out of bags AGAIN, like HOW?! It’s a supermarket, how can you constantly run out of bags?! How do you want ppl to shop?! So far, since they took over last year, over seven occasions I’ve walked into that store and they didn’t have a single bag. This is a JOKE. I am a person who always trying my best to bring along my own shopping bags but there are times we forget, which is Ok. This express store is very convenient and perfect for this area really and always having essentials but come on solve this problem once for all, it’s ridiculous, feels like COVID-times, not accepted year 2025.
Never been so mad in my life . Several times in this store I have noticed a staff member been rude to customers, how ever tonight I went in with my 11 year old daughter and this rude black haired staff member with glasses on was talking to another staff member . I stood in the middle of them both to pick up some items and he comes out with THAT'S IT STAND IN OUR WAY!. Ive never experienced someone so rude who's supposed to be there and crack a smile for people like me that are paying his wages , I'm not letting this drop , avoid this stupid disgrace they call Asda express at all costs !!!!!
Im from out of town and popped in today 15-05-24 around 13.30. I know I’m only being served for a few moments at a till…but when it’s by a fellow human being and not a computer, a little customer interaction with a smile when trying to have a conversation would be nice. Very rude and abrupt when I tried to scan my Asda Reward card (which I now know the don’t except here).! Why do a customer facing job when you can’t even raise a smile.?! You’d think I’d asked her to give me the takings out of the till the way she spoke to me 😔 Will go else where when I’m the area next
