My wife and I are in our 70s and over the years have used many physiotherapists to treat sports and other ailments. John Ostrovkis is much the most knowledgeable, expert, thorough and effective of all those we have met. He also won't attempt to prescribe unnecessary sessions. We recommend him very highly.

My 2nd visit to John's clinic. First one in 2019 for an elbow injury was thoroughly successful. I was given insights, advice and exercises that work and helped me treat my elbows effectively. This time I've come for a shoulder injury (both injuries, elbows and shoulder, classic climbing symptoms). Treatment in clinic was convincing and I have been given exercises and insights again which I expect to work just as effectively as with the elbow 5 years ago. Highly recommended - friendly, professional and effective solutions. Cheers John

Hip After 6 months of extreme hip pain including private x ray, MRI, Orthopedic Consultation, Steroid injection and daily pain relief (strong). Place on a waiting list for key hole surgery. Struggling with the impact on sleep and quality of life. I decided to visit John who my sister had recommended. 3 sessions in I have received a rehab plan, ultra sound alongside shockwave therapy treatment. In the initial assessment John identified additional issues a boney spurt and tendopathy. Over the last 6 weeks and three treatments in. I am pain free and able to enjoy whole night of uninterrupted sleep. John is professional and knowledgeable.

Zero stars. By way of summary, I was misdiagnosed by this clinic, given unnecessary treatment, put though months of worry culminating in extension of my condition, more pain, avoidable time in an air-cast and unnecessary time off work, all to heal a completely non-existent fracture. So PLEASE approach this place with caution. I attended this clinic in October as I was at my wits end with plantar fasciitis. On the day I attended I was pain free for the first time in months, I suspect due to a week of total rest due to illness. I told them this at the start of the appointment as I kind of felt like I didn't need to be there. I was told no problem, but let's examine you anyway. I was given an examination including the usual assessment of feet, ankles and hips and was then given a 'pinch test’ which apparently tests for heel bone stress fractures. I can only assume this man didn't know how to conduct this properly because this hurt like hell, on both feet, but more on my affected foot. I suspect this is because he just didn't press as hard on my right foot. Given the pinch test hurt, I was told it sounded like a heel bone stress fracture, even though I wasn't in any pain that day. I was given an ultrasound scan during which the physio seemed very concerned and showed me the scan indicating what looked like a fractured bone with a chip out of it floating around in my heel. He then proceeded to panic me by telling me that for a woman my age (39) and of my fitness level, I shouldn't be having stress fractures and said that I had probably got a pretty bad deficiency of calcium or vitamin D and should be concerned about osteoporosis and I really needed a bone scan. Needless to say, for months I have been worried sick about this for no reason because the physio was completely wrong. So despite not being in pain and clearly being on the road to recovery I was still given a round of shockwave treatment to ‘help with healing’. Within 24 hours I was in AGONY so I contacted the clinic who said it was normal for a few days. A week later when I still hadn’t recovered, I contacted him again and was just told that I should have recovered by now so it was OBVIOUS his diagnosis of a fracture was correct and my condition was clearly more serious than just plantar fasciitis. So again, more worry and stress. I asked how I ought to treat my issue and for how long (do I need a boot, pain killers etc) and was given no information on this, just told to do things which ‘didn’t aggravate’ it. Think about that a second - he’s telling me I have a fracture but providing NO rehab information, which should have been a massive red flag. I was just told to go to the NHS for an MRI. So now we are in December and following that shockwave treatment I have STILL not completely recovered. I have since been through the NHS and have had an Xray and seen a Consultant Podiatrist with 36 years of experience. They confirm that I DO actually have plantar fasciitis with a bone spur, which explains this 'chip' of bone the physio apparently saw on my scan. It’s worrying how a man who purports to be a qualified sonographer can not only think I have a fracture but completely misdiagnose a very clear bone spur. He clearly doesn’t know how to operate or read an ultrasound scan and I question the validity of the certificate displayed in his office. I also asked my NHS Consultant about the shockwave treatment and was categorically told that if a patient presents with no symptoms, they shouldn't be treated until the cause of the issue is confirmed. So not only was I misdiagnosed by this ‘qualified’ sonographer I should NEVER have been given that shockwave treatment in the first place as my condition wasn’t clear at that time. It also should not have been implied that I had deficiencies as this has caused me no end of worry. All in all, EXTREMELY poor service from a man who quite clearly doesn’t know how to operate an ultrasound scan and who seemed to engineer my diagnosis to get me to buy more shockwave treatments. I will never go near this clinic again.
