Took my very bouncy high energy 4yr old dog! Harleyquinn loved running around the wooded area and playing fetch on the field. They have a well maintained allotment which you and your dog can walk and runaround the perimeter. Nice walk especially if your dog is recall trained. Only downfall is the traffic on the road could be dangerous, if your dog doesn't listen. Maybe a gate would be great at the entrance to avoid accidents!?
Despite what the map of Heworth Holme says it’s unfortunately not really wheelchair accessible. The gates at the Bad Bargain Lane end that would be accessible are locked and there’s a boardwalk part way in that has quite a big step at each end. I think the trail could very easily be improved for wheelchair access. Other than that it is a lovely place for a nice calm walk through the trees with plenty of birds to hear and see.
Good dog-walking spot, large grassy field and access to a stream for them to cool off on a hot day.
Lovely place to run the dog. It's like a meadow with the beck running down one side. Nice.
Great to walk the dogs enjoy the peace and quiet as well watching the wildlife.
