We had a great time eating dinner here as part of a Wowcher spa stay weekend. The restaurant is set in a grand room with regal portraits on the walls and classical music playing. The battered cauliflower we had for a starter was delicious. We had steak frites for the main which was cooked perfectly with a lovely red wine sauce. Even the bottle of Malbec we had was really good! Our server Ashley was wonderful throughout the evening, she was really on it with food allergies and very knowledgeable about the menu, recommending what could be altered. She made my boyfriend feel very special for his birthday. Would love to dine here again at some point!
I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was truly a top-notch experience from start to finish! The ambiance was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. But what really made our visit exceptional was our server, Josie. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Josie had great recommendations from the menu and made us feel so well taken care of β her service truly elevated our experience. Every dish was fresh and flavorful, and the entire staff created a friendly vibe. Canβt wait to come back soon!
My husband and I love this place! fantastic food , drink and amazing Staff , especially Ashley. We would come back just for her! Shes so professional and friendly such a wonderful person. Highly recommend this place.
For 4* hotel 5 storey historic hotel. this restaurant is simply not up to par. Ambience lovely, waitresses lovely, food a step up from school dinners only. In particular the sticky toffee pudding for dessert couldn't be done with cream instead of ice cream as the hotel didn't have any! We left without having dessert in any case as -after 20 minutes waiting - somnolonce arrived before it did! A very frustrating date night with the wife
Sunday roast was excellent, so was the service. Really affordable as well. I think the bad reviews come from the other bar in the hotel as that is rubbish and overpriced
