Very cute little shop in Horsforth. Serving North Star Roasters coffee. La Marzocco Brewer, Mahlkoenig Grinder. Nice friendly staff. Pretty good takeaway Espresso and Cappuccino; not bad overall, would definitely go back.
This is how small-scale independent coffee should be done! This place is so clean and crisp with just enough real wood to add some organic warmth. It's subtle and calm but with an extra punch (bright yellow, industrial fonts) that the Iron Tiger Coffee Co adds, which makes it feel unique. Service was quiet and efficient, which I love. I know I'm an introvert, so I like service that's friendly, not a new best friend. Not a hint of coffee-aficionado sneer. The coffee, as you might expect was very good. I wouldn't be posting this otherwise. My americano + hot milk was served slightly more quaffable than North Star serve it. Which is my preference. I like depth, but I also like it to be refreshing. And, a final nod to the playlist. I liked it, but it was also on brand. It was clean, calm and cool. Needless to say, I recommend you set aside 30 mins, pay a visit and enjoy a coffee. I can honestly say it's one of the best ways to spend half an hour you can find in Leeds. **Back Story** There' a wee bit of back story to this review, so I think it's only fair I include it. To start, I only post reviews for coffee shops for two reasons. Because I find it really helpful when I visit somewhere and a review helps me find a nice place. And, because it's a damn hard job getting an independent up and running, so if I can give a good little business a micro-boost by sharing my thoughts, then why not. I visited Iron Tiger in Horsforth because I'd written a review on the Bramhope shop and the owner had responded with a super reasonable post, which I think is impressive when a random stranger is judging your life's work. He suggested I check out the Horsforth shop. I had a couple of days off, so I drove the 30 mins to check it out. It's worth mentioning because the precious time off, the extra travel time meant I was much more likely to be disappointed. The fact I wasn't makes it even more impressive. Finally, I'd like to give it more than 5 stars. Here's why. From Oakwood to Chapel Allerton I've seen coffee-shops appear, and they've looked great. But more often than not, the minimal style is cost-cutting and the veneer starts to peel (literally in some cases). Chris hasn't cut corners on style, coffee or customer service. I saw everyone including wannabe-hipsters like me, middle aged women and down to earth workmen get the same quality treatment. The tables are gorgeous and the coffee was great. I started this (very long) review saying this is how it's done. I hope that anyone who's thinking of setting up a new coffee place uses Iron Tiger as the benchmark. Keep up the good work!
Found on Google maps as the best coffee in Horsforth as it was on our route. Well worth stopping by. Great coffee and nice little shop. Support local, rather than the big chains!
