Newsome Post Office

My local shop, great selection and choice and friendly staff.

Unfortunately I trusted this shop to send a valuable parcel to Italy for me back in July and have had ongoing issues ever since. Anu at Newsome post office and another man served me on 09/07/2024 and I explained to them my item was worth £150 and that I wanted it tracked and covered for this amount. I was unaware how much it would cost, but happy to pay whatever it did and she charged me £12.40. It has since been proven to me after numerous complains/phonecalls and emails from royal mail & the post office that the £12.40 I paid only covers £50 in compensation, not £150 so royal mail have refused to refund me the full amount for the item. Due to this negligence I am out of pocket by £100 and nobody is willing to do the right thing. Not only did my item not get to where it needed to be at the time but I am now out of pocket with nobody taking liability for this error and I’m being passed from one person to the next with nobody actually helping me.

I wanted to withdraw some money I asked for £25 the young lad on the post office counter didn't even ask me how I would like my cash he just gave me a £20 note and a five pound note so then I had to make a purchase in the shop to get some change. I do find him very abrupt every time I go in. I paid my water while I was there and he has to scan my Yorkshire Water card and instead of giving me it back in my hand he put it down on the table I just think he's got some kind of problem.

Rude man that works there. Very rude to every Pakistani person that comes in but when a white Person comes in he’s smiley than ever. The women and boy are very nice. That man is the reason I don’t go into that post office anymore very grumpy and rude shouldn’t be working there if he doesn’t know basic customer service skills and inclusivity!

Best customer service in town! Staff is friendly and highly trained. I am running bussines and visiting this shop daily for parcels,never had any issues.
