Had a great experience choosing our new car at Perrys Huddersfield. James explained all the aspects of the car and purchasing process. We were able to have a lengthy trial run and on collection he explained all controls and he made a follow up telephone call. On the whole a very good experience and big thank you to James, would highly recommend.
Recently bought a car from James at this branch. Very helpful and friendly, I was buying a car that wasn't on site at the time, so James kept me informed of the progress of the vehicles arrival etc...I live in Birmingham so all contact was via message and phone calls, he did a live video call once the car had arrived to go over the vehicle etc....he was happy to answer any queries I had. On the day of collection everything went smoothly (apart from weather!). Would recommend using Perrys even if you are not local to them!!
If I could rate 0 I would. Such a lack of compassion and interest when showing up with a vehicle that you are unsure is fit to drive. Multiple warning lights and told that it’s 4pm on a Friday so everyone is ready to go home, and given the reassurance that they’ll try and get you in before March and it will cost £190+ to check what the issue is. Thankfully another garage looked at it and took 10 minutes to identify the issue, provide total reassurance and get me on my way. I wonder which one I’ll use again - especially as this is the third (and last) time I’ve received this level of service.
My partner purchased a Vauxhall Mokka from Perrys Vauxhall Huddersfield. Within just six days of purchase, the vehicle suffered a serious and dangerous mechanical failure. The car had covered approximately 5,000 miles and was sold as an ex-Motability vehicle, which made this incident particularly concerning. I was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. While travelling at low speed, the car experienced a complete loss of braking with no prior warning lights or indication of a fault. The vehicle only came to a stop just before colliding with a property. Had this occurred at higher speed, the consequences could have been catastrophic. After restarting the vehicle, a warning message appeared stating: “Braking system fault – stop the vehicle.” I contacted Perrys Vauxhall Huddersfield that same morning and was informed that the RAC would attend. The RAC did not arrive until the following day, approximately 12 hours after the brake failure. Upon inspection, the RAC confirmed that the issue was caused by a sheared brake vacuum component (a critical safety defect) and advised that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and must be returned to Perrys. Despite the severity of the fault and the clear safety risk, we were not offered a courtesy car. When my partner enquired, he was informed that we would need to wait between three and five days, leaving us without a vehicle following a serious safety incident. Given the circumstances, I made it clear that I no longer wished to keep the vehicle and intended to return it. Subsequently, I received a phone call asking whether I would like to look at alternative vehicles, which I declined. When we attended the dealership on Monday 26th to return the spare key and collect personal belongings, the receptionist was polite and helpful. However, despite being made aware of our presence, Connor did not come out to speak with us, offer an apology, or acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. This lack of engagement was extremely disappointing given the nature of the incident. I am extremely relieved that this failure occurred at low speed and not on a faster road, as the outcome could have been fatal. This experience has completely undermined my trust in Vauxhall and in Perrys Vauxhall Huddersfield. I would strongly urge others to carefully consider both vehicle safety and aftersales support before purchasing from this dealership.
Fantastic service at Perrys Huddersfield! Millie was absolutely brilliant — friendly, professional, and made everything so easy from start to finish. My car repair was handled quickly and efficiently, and the communication throughout was excellent. Would definitely recommend Perrys Huddersfield and especially Millie for outstanding customer service.
