Booked my car in to Skoda Huddersfield as had problems with power, and a few other issues that I knew of that I will get into in the latter of this review. Initially the service seemed good, was promised a full diagnoses of my car, was told by Matthew on the service desk that “we’ll give the car a really thorough look over”. The only positives I can report is a good turnaround time for getting the car booked in, down there to have my main problem fixed and getting my car back. Now please bear in mind my partner is a fully qualified mechanic- I wanted the paper work to go with my car for when I get rid of it, so who better to take it to than Skoda right? Wrong. The “full diagnoses” and “really thorough look over” of my car was actually more find the main problem, fix it and get the car out again. I was only told about a vacuum line being broken causing the loss of power and that was the only work done on my car. Before I booked it into Skoda I knew of other problems with my car- drive shaft is leaking and is actually needing replacement, under pan of car has a big hole in it, inner tie rods need doing, car also needs tracking which will obviously come after tie rods are done but not the point. I paid for a full diagnoses of my car and literally got nothing from it, which in turn has really annoyed me as I could have left my car a few days more and had these things done. Further to this, when I went to collect my car I asked for my paperwork to be put in my name as my partner had previously called up for me and it was under his- Matthew agreed but low and behold my paperwork was still in my partner’s name. I also asked him about service history for another Skoda we have recently just bought and because it’s a rather old model I was told after he looked “I can’t find anything for that reg and it will likely be a stamp in a book because it’s so old”. Chesterfield Skoda were rung about the service history and while they couldn’t initially find it, did a deeper look on the system and found it all! My thoughts are this garage seem good on the surface, but when faced with actual problems it’s just get you straight in, main problem sorted and straight back out again. I’ve stayed anon as my parents are regular customers at this garage and seem to think they get really good service, and they get new cars that rarely need anything but a service and I wouldn’t want to spoil that for them but for me, not a positive experience. Would rather take to Audi where I get a full video run of my diagnoses and they point out every single problem on your car from very minor issues to major ones and upload it to your customer account. A full diagnoses with them is a full diagnoses and not sort the main problem and get you out of the door.

On Monday 20th October I had a test drive at the Keighley branch in a Suzuki S Cross hybrid automatic 22 plate. I was greeted by Jon Broadbent who had brought the car from Huddersfield. I was a little nervous as I had not driven an automatic in 20 years. He immediately put my mind at rest. He was very knowledgeable about the car and explained everything in detail. I enjoyed driving the car and decided to buy it, part exchanging my beloved Mini Cooper. The process from start to finish was carried out efficiently, professionally and thoroughly. I would not hesitate in recommending this garage. There was no hard sell, just a very easy experience from very experienced professionals. Thank you for making this process smooth and seamless.

If I could give a zero score I would.... My partner booked a test drive for 11am this Saturday gone .... Turned up, a little early.... Which was our choice.... Only to be eventually told that, we hadn't really been book in, the person who we booked it in with was new .... had written a few notes on the record, but it was his non working weekend and... The car we HAD booked for a test drive was his car, so wasn't at the garage.... 😡. The guy we spoke to, wasn't really interested, did book a follow up appointment for next week.... But didn't even ask any questions, whether I wanted to part ex, finance, PCP .. nothing . Totally disgusted. 😡😡😡

Absolute quality service from everyone, made us feel valued and couldn't do enough for you, great communication will definitely be using them in the future, big thanks to Mathew and Alan for a smooth service.
