Scar Close Caravan Park

YOU NEED TO BE AWARE… Great location and well organised small campsite. Lovely views and quiet. Communication with owner was good and she welcomed us on arrival. BUT whilst we were aware there are no showers it wasn’t clear to us that facilities are very limited. Single toilet and sink in tiny shed (see photo), thankfully clean although quite a lot of spiderwebs. No pot washing or anything else. Water, electrical hook up and waste disposal are available. This site is suitable for anyone who is self sufficient eg caravans and motor homes. For us in a campervan it was totally fine for one night, although a little pricey (£24 for an adults, no hook up) given the sparse facilities.

Fabulous CL in Hudswell very close to Richmond N. Yorkshire. Lovely owners, helped out by taking in Amazon parcel deliveries for us no problem. Loads of space, flat pitches, tap between pitches. We ran the long hose from the water hog and connected when a fill was needed so no tugging the hog around. Great community pub serving excellent food just up the road with another pub down the road overlooking the valley with views to Richmond castle. A really excellent place to spend some time. We loved it!

This is a great CL site and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 2 nights and used the site as a base for visiting The Forbidden Corner. There are some great walks from the site, Richmond is only 1 mile away. We will definitely be coming back.

A lovely quiet site. Very friendly site owners, helpful and accomodating. Very large field for 5 vehicles plus spare hardstand areas for use in winter. Good on site security lighting. A portaloo is on site and well kept. Good information hut too. Plenty electrical points and water amenities. Easy access on to the site. Tip: follow owners instructions for road directions to find them. Good food at George and Dragon just 5/10 min walk away. Richmond 10 minutes drive or 45 walk from the site. Richmond has a lot to offer. The railway station is great for food, bakery, cinema even. We will definitely go back, so much more to explore and a great base.

A really fabulous spot with a lovely walk to the local pub and into Richmond. Lots to do for everyone. Walks, National Park, waterfalls, castles. Just wonderful. Lovely people run the site that is small but perfect. A great base.
