MonkBridge Guest House

This was a return visit as we enjoyed our stay so much last time. The property is a short walk from the station and the shops. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. Good shower and welcome tray. The breakfast is amazing and the French toast special is DELICIOUS. Paul and Fiona are excellent hosts and can't do enough for you. We will hopefully be back here next year.

Wow, what a gem! Everything was 5 star. The location was excellent as we attended a family wedding in the city centre.The spotless room, the most comfortable bed, the small touches, the complimentary sherry and delicious homemade shortbread. Access to a very comfortable sitting room in such a beautiful period house. And the breakfast was one of the best that we've ever had, the ingredients were superb quality, expertly cooked by Paul. Many items were homemade and we had to buy some butter and jam to take home with us! Paul and Fiona, you are excellent hosts and we will definitely return. Thankyou so much for your excellent hospitality.

We had a truly wonderful stay and can’t thank Paul and Fiona enough for being such fabulous, welcoming, and accommodating hosts. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel completely at home. The guest house itself is a beautiful period property, lovingly maintained and enhanced with charming modern touches that make it both characterful and incredibly comfortable. There are so many thoughtful details throughout the stay — it’s clear how much care and attention has gone into creating a special experience for guests. The location is superb, making everything easy and convenient, and the breakfast was outstanding — genuinely one of the highlights of our stay.

We stayed for 2 nights and the location was perfect, so convenient and being able to park your car there too was a bonus. This property is beautiful, our room was a great size and the bathroom was great and so toasty warm. You pre order your breakfast the evening prior and state the time you would like it, there is so much choice but we have to say the cooked breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere. There is an honesty bar which we did not use but this is such a great idea. We have booked to go again next year, you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay at MonkBridge House. We were very well looked after and our hosts were very accommodating by providing us with a late breakfast after we had been at York parkrun that morning. The food was of great quality and set us up nicely for the day. There is a short, flat walk into the deter of York, making it a great location. The room as very comfortable and had everything we needed. Would recommend!
