We stayed here for 2 nights on a fully serviced pitch. Fantastic site, very welcoming and friendly owners. Coffee lounge is a very nice touch. Facilities are spotless and heated. Pitches are well spaced and the grounds are kept immaculate. Village near by. Single track road to site with passing places so be aware.

This is now our second home. We stayed on the hardstanding super pitch near the lakeside three times now and returning soon. It is so peaceful with stunning views of the hills. We stayed with our dogs, plenty of walks in the dog friendly fields, I think there is four or five in total, which are part of the caravan park. They even have a dog cleaning room to clean there muddy paws. The shower and toilet block is immaculate, clean, warm with plenty of hot water. The caravan park itself is immaculate, staff are very friendly and helpful, they are always available if you need them. We love this place so much that we have a pitch and store here and have secured a winter seasonal pitch. We have also got our name down for a summer seasonal pitch. Thirsk is nearby which is a beautiful market town and not too far from Ripon, Osmotherly, Northallerton and Helmsley. I would definitely recommend Hillside Caravan Park.

What a brilliant little site! We leave today but it's been so lovely. The site is immaculate the staff are constantly cleaning or mowing the grass. We've had no problems at all whilst here but I have no doubt if we did the staff would be on it. The play area is brilliant we met our friends who stayed in the pods and us in a caravan and it was brilliant. Showers and toilets very clean they even have a bath which with two young children was brilliant! The dog wash room was also amazing! Highly recommend and we hope to be back very soon!

I stayed for one night en route to somewhere else. They allowed me with my three little dogs which was good of them as the rules are 2 dogs only. However that meant they wanted me on a super pitch (I think because it is quieter down there?) Which really wasnt necessary in my tiny t4 camper. Also, this meant I was far from the toilet block, which in such a basic camper is not ideal. As another reviewer has mentioned, the toilet/shower block is a bit of a walk from the super pitches. Inside, the shower cubicles are really small and not practical for getting ready. I am a small person, and I found it cramped. Only a small round stool for somewhere to put belongings. Very difficult to get changed in there. The actual shower was hot and good pressure, and it was all very clean. There are a lot of seemingly seasonal pitched caravans and they're all on the fancier side, so I can only assume people don't need to use the facilities much. I asked for a WiFi code on arrival, paying £3 for 24hrs. After setting up, I put the WiFi code into my phone, and then discovered it wasnt allowed on more than one device. I turned wifi off my phone and tried to set up my tablet but it still wouldn't accept it. So, be mindful. Make sure you put the code only into the device you wish to use wifi on. If you are staying a week or so, and have multiple family members, I feel this would be costly.

Had a few days here in August and stayed on one of the super pitches. Super is right. They are huge. The electric is 'sturdy', there's a good water supply and the elsan point and bins are not far away either. The views are also incredible. The super pitches were also really well spaced out, whereas the area with the 'normal' service pitches seemed a bit crowded. The only down side is that some of the super pitches are quite a walk from the toilet and shower block and the ones that are a bit nearer are on the other side of the hedge to the kids' playground, which got a bit noisy at times, but you can't blame the kids for being kids. The toilet and shower block also seemed a tad small for the size of the site with the gents only having 2 showers and 2 toilet stalls for what is a decent sized site. There are more toilets at reception, but that's even more of a walk which could be tricky for those with mobility issues. A small toilet and shower block on the far side of the super pitch field would definitely have made this a 5 star review. Having said all this, we still loved the place and have already booked to go back. See you soon.
