I have applied for registration for my daughter then payed a 100 quid registration fee for leeds branch. Then circumstances changed and I wanted to cancel the application (that was 2 months before her joining day/AKA plenty of notice) and I was told in an email that the registration fee will be funded. that was 6 months ago and since then everytime I call to follow that up someone tells me leave it with me and they never get back to me. unprofessional is the word I would use. I have gave up on my 100 quid but just wanted to flag their behaviour to anyone willing to engage with them.

My daughter is starting school in September and so is in her final month at Twinkles so it seems like a good time to reflect on our experience. Buckle up, it's a long one. The nursery is split into 3 age groups but they frequently "visit" each other to help with the transition between rooms as they age up which I think gives quite a nice family feel to it. The kids are familiar with all the staff which in my opinion makes them more comfortable there. I have always had the feeling that they all care ABOUT your kid, not just for them. My daughter knows she's going to leave for good soon and has said how much she will miss them and can we visit so clearly it's not just me that thinks they're good. Resource wise, there's a small outdoor area which I was very impressed with given the city centre location and in the basement is a soft play area which she LOVES visiting. They go between these places and their room often but due to the building being over several floors it's not free flow. Despite being slightly too young for the 3-5 room when she started, she has been in there for her whole stay at Twinkles and as she's developed and varied her interests they've been really great at supplying her activities that she's interested in. There's at least one early years teacher and in my opinion it shows in the quality of the learning they do. My mum is a reception teacher and has commented in the past how well reports are written and how well Sophie has been "taught" compared to her experience with other private nurseries. They update us regularly via Capture with photos and observations and it's possible to request a "parent partnership" meeting at any time for more detailed feedback if you want. Alternatively they give you as much or as little feedback on a day to day basis as you like. At the start I'd get a run down of every nappy (and contents!) changed, exactly how much of each meal she'd eaten and anything else I might need to know about her day. I'm not that fussed for detail though so nowadays it's a quick "great day" and I trust that they'll let me know if anything has happened. The food is cooked from scratch every day by a chef and we're provided with a menu every term with a 4 week rotating selection of food. I can personally attest that the food is good when I arrived early one day and there was plenty leftover so I was invited to join them for their meal. The staff eat the same as the kids too. They get 3 meals, 2 puddings and, from what I gather, limitless snacks which is great for my bottomless pit... As for fees, they're very competitive, especially for a city centre nursery. I think as of writing this they're £57 a day (don't hold me to that though) and that includes food and nappies which some places do not provide. One local to me in east Leeds was charging 50% more and did not provide these things so I think we're pretty lucky. Specifically on recent events I've been very impressed with the way the staff have handled a difficult time. We have not been charged fees or a retainer to keep nursery places which I know many have done and they have done an excellent and realistic job of implementing measures that are achievable by the kids. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Twinkles to anyone and am guilty of singing their praises to absolutely anyone who will listen. I wouldn't have a second thought about sending any subsequent children here and I'm honestly disappointed that our time with them is coming to an end. Thanks Twinkles for everything

My son has been attending Twinkles at Oxford Place for the best part of 3 years, and we're so happy with them that our young daughter will be attending shortly. He has been there from 9 months and is now 3½ so has experienced all three of the different rooms (how the ages are split). Hes always been supported and challenged with his interests, and comes home telling us about all the different things he's been doing each day - it's so lovely to hea . The staff are so friendly and also informative. They're happy to answer any questions there and then or to arrange a meeting for a chat, whichever you prefer. We get regular updates on his progress of key skills and it's fantastic to see him then demonstrate those skills at home. I can't recommend this nursery enough!

Worst nursery in Leeds. They charge £1200 a month - the highest rate you can think of. Although some of the staff are lovely, the manager is rude and wants maximum payments whenever possible. When they closed during COVID-19 they refused to refund parents advanced payments that weren’t used. Also - prams will be stored out in the rain and you have to deal with it. Also - they charge £150 registration fees and you have to pay £150 again every time you sign a new contract with them.

I highly recommend, the number of kids per the staff is perfect and the staff is friendly. They provide a daily report about the kid. My daughter loves the place very much and enjoys her time there. In my opinion, it is the best nursery in the city centre because I visit many nurseries and most of them either crowded or the outdoor activities open to the kids all the time which is inappropriate in cold or rainy weather.
