Meanwood Preschool

Both of my daughters attended Meanwood Preschool, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as a parent. We moved from a larger nursery, and the difference was incredible. The preschool’s smaller, more nurturing environment meant the staff truly got to know each of my children as individuals, their personalities, their interests, and what helped them thrive. The team at Meanwood Preschool are genuinely kind, caring, and dedicated. They go above and beyond every single day, creating a warm, safe, and stimulating atmosphere where children feel seen, valued, and loved. The focus on building confidence and school readiness is exceptional - both of my girls transitioned into primary school happy, independent, and well-prepared. What stands out most is how personal the care feels. You’re never just another family here; you become part of a community. I always felt completely reassured leaving my children in their hands, knowing they were receiving the very best start. We honestly miss it and my children still talk about their time there with such affection. I couldn’t recommend Meanwood Preschool more highly. It’s a truly special place that gives children the most wonderful beginning to their learning journey.

Our son absolutely loved Meanwood preschool, as did I. All the teachers are so lovely and really care and support the children as much as they need. Our son really thrived there and enjoyed every minute. Helen is wonderful and works so hard to make it a special little preschool.

Our son has absolutely loved his time at Meanwood Preschool and we are sad to see it come to an end. During his time there he has grown so much socially and academically. He is now fully prepared for his next step into big school thanks to the all wonderful activities he has enjoyed at preschool. The staff absolutely make the preschool, they are all so a kind and caring and our son absolutely loves them all. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to his school journey.

Meanwood Preschool is a welcoming and nurturing setting. Helen and her team are very experienced early years practitioners, with a deep understanding of child development. Their passion for the arts comes through very strongly in the activities planned for the children, so creative activities are plentiful and well structured. The outdoor space is lovely, with lots of opportunities for children to learn and play outside. I have been really impressed with the skilful approach to language development, early writing, number work, etc, as well as the learning and social behaviours needed for getting ready for school. Every observation includes suggestions for parents to help build on what their children are learning at preschool. Preschool has been a happy and special place for my child, it's fantastic to have this setting in Meanwood, thank you!

Meanwood Preschool is such a special place! Helen and the team are fantastic at what they do and our son has absolutely loved his time there.
