There are several 92 Degrees in central Leeds. I think this is the newest. It’s rather small (compared to the other ones), but it has a nice environment for a coffee and remote working!
there is such a lovely atmosphere at this cafe! i pop in every day as i have the membership (which is great value) and am greeted every time with lovely customer service and quick service. the coffee and matcha in itself are amazing, the perfect balance. i would recommend to everyone :)
The coffee was unpleasantly sour, and the seating was uncomfortably hard. The so-called "half plastic, half coffee husk" reusable bioplastic cup left much to be desired. The café lacked proper decorations and high-quality coffee cups—not to mention decent coffee itself. While the pricing was average, the overall experience fell short. On a positive note, the staff were professional, and the floors and tables were clean—something I could appreciate amidst the other disappointments. I hope to see improvements in the future. As for the cup, Huskee cup, it's worth noting that this brand claims to reduce plastic by using recycled coffee husks in its design. The cups are developed in Australia but manufactured in China. While Huskee offers a recycling loop in the UK, where old cups can be swapped for new ones free of charge, it raises questions about whether the recycling process involves shipping the cups back to China. If so, it could undermine local recycling efforts in the UK. As in the official page of Huskee, the life span of cup is two years and the primary polymer chosen is a plastic called polypropylene. So, as the summary of my general understanding, 1) the cup is not plastic free. 2) As there is life span, it should not be used after two years or more, but, sadly, it cannot be recycled locally, due to the materials mixing coffee husks and plastic. 3) well it can only be recycled in the production place, China, if there is recycling happening. First, extra great amount of carbon footprint in shipping to China. Second, how to recycle bioplastic in the site? Burn to ashes? Well, m.... 🤔 *) why not use ceramic cup for sit in? Besides, why are the coffee husks more sensible in being recycled in the farm, such as soil enrichment, rather than in making bioplastic cup? The coffee shop chains management may think about it, or use paper cup instead. Or give discount offer on taking your own reusable cup for takeaway. References: Huskee FAQ HuskeeLoop in the UK
Leeds isn’t the best place to take dogs sadly, and with Luci in recovery from paralysis we often need to take breaks. Luci, myself and my date were looking for somewhere we could sit down and take a break. Unsure if Luci would be allowed in my date nipped in and asked if it would be ok to bring a dog in. The barista was more than welcoming, even treating Luci with the same respect as any other customer that came in. The coffee was great, we thought the cups were brilliant (can’t believe some people have shown disapproval!), and the recommended cherry and pistachio cake was very much enjoyed. Even the customers made a fuss over Luci, despite her behaviour not being amazing. And the friendly gent who was running things brought her a few little treats that made her feel in her element. We weren’t there for long but in the short space of time we were there everything was excellent. We’ll definitely be back, I have a feeling Luci may well drag me there…!
Asked for extra hot 🔥 decaf flat white coffee ☕️ and that’s what I got. Taste 👅 was good 👍🏻. Thanks
