<p><strong>Electrical Estimator<br /></strong>Location: Leeds LS7 1QN (office-based)<br />Contract: Full-time, Permanent<br />Salary: <strong>&#163;50,000 circa</strong> (depending on experience) <strong>&#43; car allowance and excellent benefits</strong></p> <p><strong>Albert Innes</strong> Ltd is one of Leeds’ longest-established electrical contractors, with a proud heritage dating back to 1905. We deliver high-quality electrical and building services across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and public sectors.</p> <p>We’re looking for an <strong>experienced Electrical Estimator</strong> to join our team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and commercially-sound estimates, helping secure profitable contracts and maintain strong client relationships.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review drawings and specifications to quantify materials, labour, and project requirements.</li><li>Prepare <strong>detailed electrical estimates</strong> for pre-designed and design &amp; build projects ranging from &#163;50k up to &#163;1.5m.</li><li>Identify commercial risks, assumptions, and exclusions to protect profitability.</li><li><strong>Recommend alternative installation</strong> methods or value engineering opportunities that deliver cost savings and efficiency gains.</li><li>Attend <strong>pre-tender, mid-tender, post-tender</strong>, and site meetings as required, providing expert input on feasibility and commercial impact.</li><li>Support contract awards and hand over secured projects to project managers, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity.</li><li>Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials costs, and market conditions to inform estimating strategies.</li></ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience <strong>estimating electrical works</strong> for commercial projects, ideally projects valued <strong>&#163;50k-&#163;1.5m.</strong></li><li>Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot financial risk, scope gaps, and opportunities early.</li><li><strong>Proficiency in IT, including estimating software (Trimble Contract Master),</strong> Excel, and Word.</li><li>Solid knowledge of electrical materials, construction methods, and installation techniques.</li><li>Excellent time management skills with a tidy, methodical approach to documentation.</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City &amp; Guilds, HNC/ONC, or equivalent).</li><li>Experience with NICEIC or ECA-accredited contractors.</li><li>Familiarity with design &amp; build projects and value engineering.</li><li>Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract frameworks.</li></ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary and car allowance.</li><li><strong>34 days annual leave including bank holidays.</strong></li><li><strong>Enhanced pension scheme.</strong></li><li><strong>Private medical cover.</strong></li><li><strong>Death in service benefit.</strong></li><li><strong>Christmas Shutdown</strong></li></ul> <p><strong>Other suitable skills and experience include</strong>, Electrical Estimator, Design &amp; Build Estimator, Electrical Quantity Surveyor, Quotation preparation, Commercial Estimator, Estimator (Electrical)</p> <p>Please apply today with your CV.</p>
