I would like to express my deepest thanks to everyone at Hughes Funeral Services for the exceptional care and professionalism they showed following the passing of my dad, Howard Franklyn. From the very first contact, the whole team was supportive, compassionate, and understanding, guiding us through the process with warmth and respect. A special mention to Fin, who has been absolutely outstanding throughout. His communication, advice, and sensitivity have been second to none — nothing was ever too much trouble, and he ensured that every detail was handled perfectly. Fin’s calm and kind approach made a very difficult time that bit easier to bear. I’d also like to thank Helen Marshall, the celebrant recommended by Hughes, who was equally superb. She captured Dad’s spirit beautifully and delivered a service that was both moving and deeply personal. To all the team at Hughes — your professionalism, empathy, and care were truly appreciated by our whole family. You helped us give Dad the send-off he deserved, and we’ll always be grateful.

There are not enough stars to give for this review, Nothing I write will ever be enough to show how truly amazing the service I have received whilst planning my dads funeral, From the first phone call, Finn became my left arm! His professionalism , empathy & respect is absolutely second to none, Planning a funeral is very tough but the experience Finn and the team have is unbelievable, Hughes have always been the go to directors my family have used over the years and I now understand why! Finn you will always hold a special place in our heart for making a really tough situation managable ! My dad had the most beautiful send off and that’s all thanks to you and the team! You are all Truly amazing! Thank you!

We’ve used this company a few times, and for good reason. Excellent from start to finish. Really can’t think of any faults. They went out of their way for us. They explained the process and always kept us up-to-date. Excellent communication and very supportive to the family throughout. When we felt the need to change something, they showed patience and understanding, always fulfilling our requests and needs. I can’t really put it any clearer than that. Very highly recommend!

Hughes Funeral Services are an outstanding family business. Fin is an absolute credit to the company, and his professionalism, yet genuine care was invaluable throughout our experience whilst dealing with my Mum’s recent funeral. My brother and I had no idea how to navigate arranging a funeral, as we very unexpectedly lost our Mum at the age of 53, and had not discussed any funeral arrangements with her. Fin made sure that both ours and hopefully our Mum’s wishes were fulfilled in a respectful way, whilst allowing us to process everything. His patience and communication skills were second to none, and he made what could have been a very difficult time, much easier to deal with. Nothing was too much to ask, nor too silly. The facilities at Hughes are lovely, with their own private chapel of rest meaning that all friends and family attending the funeral didn’t feel rushed, and it was a much more personal event. Having Fin there on the day made it feel that bit lighter too. I could not recommend them enough, thank you so much.

I just want to express my gratitude to this company. Originally I was going to use another company in terms of their services, but unfortunately I have been let down by them and I felt mistreated. They established and set up dates for us to meet and make arrangements and yet failed to show on multiple occasions. At a very difficult time for me and my family, this is not what I was expecting to have to deal with. However, Hughes Funeral service is fabulous company. I have nothing but great words and I can’t express my gratitude enough to them as they simplified and lifted a heavy weight off my shoulders. They are a professional from the way they handled everything, from the arrangements at the beginning of the process, to the service, to the food, to the flowers. The Funeral Director Fintan Michael Hughes, handled every single detail to perfection to make it a simple and stress free process for me and my family. I felt well looked after and really assisted and I can’t thank them enough for their service. I can honestly say that Hughes Funeral Services Ltd has made a sad day turned wonderful for an amazing send off for my wife. She came to see us in a very difficult time period for me and my family, where we were at a very low point in life. She came to discuss the funeral arrangements and to get more details from me. It is one of the most difficult things to do in life, explaining to a total stranger who the love of my life is now that she has passed away. We spoke about her life and how well she celebrated it, going through every little detail and she was an amazing listener. As professional as you can be, this stranger turned to me as a friend, taking the responsibility of a sad day and turning it to an beautiful and well deserved send off. She took down every detail and you can see it during the service as she made it such a special and emotional day for me and all of her loved ones. The way Helen depicted the deceased life made it a joyful day as if she was never really gone, reaching out to everyone’s hearts. She acted in a manner of such professionalism from supplying the order of service all the way through to the service, I have nothing but I praises for Helen and how she turned A day that began in sorrow transformed into one of joy.
