I am extremely disappointed with the service I have consistently received at New York Nails, despite being a loyal customer for a long time. Unfortunately, I have experienced ongoing issues with almost every nail technician at this salon, with the exception of Tina and a young lady who wears glasses. The other technicians have repeatedly been disrespectful, including speaking about me in their own language while I am sitting there. On several occasions, I have recorded these conversations and had them translated, only to hear unpleasant and inappropriate comments being made about me. This behaviour is completely unacceptable. In addition to this, my nails and toes have frequently been done poorly. My nails have been filed unevenly, and when I have raised concerns, I have been told that my nails are naturally wonky, which is not true, as I have had my nails done professionally elsewhere without any issues. On another occasion, my toes were painted very poorly, not close to the cuticle, unevenly, and in a way that made them look inflamed. Instead of correcting the issue, the technicians became defensive and again began speaking about me in their language. Today I experienced a similar situation. I politely explained that I was unhappy because my toes were not painted to the cuticle and had been filed unevenly. The technician immediately began speaking about me to other staff members and told me she would remove the nails but refused to redo them. I explained that I was already late for work and even showed her the time on my phone, yet there was no understanding or consideration. I then offered to still pay for the service and simply asked if two to three pounds could be taken off due to the poor quality. This was refused until I spoke directly to Tina, who resolved the issue. As I was leaving, I was told that I should not come back because the technician is leaving, or that there would be no one willing to do my nails. This was extremely upsetting and unprofessional. Overall, I have had problems with nearly every technician at this salon. Whenever I raise valid concerns about the quality of my nails, I am made to feel as though I am the problem or that I am exaggerating, which is not the case. I will be providing photos to clearly show the poor workmanship. This is not how a loyal customer should ever be treated, and the level of customer service I have experienced is unacceptable.
I went to New York Nails and Beauty this afternoon for a classic French set. I have never had such a beautiful manicure. Tina did my nails, and she was so attention to detail focused, ensuring my nails were perfect, and they are!! Thank you so much Tina and the team for your warm and welcoming hospitality. I more than enjoyed my experience at this salon. I will never go anywhere else for my nails!!
Ive had this lovely lady becky do my nails several times now and I was over the moon with them. Today she has done my feet ,not only are they the best I've ever had done ,but her effort and the pride she takes in making sure they are perfect is unmatched. Honestly she's a master at her craft. Please go to her ladies, honestly you will not be disappointed. I won't be going anywhere else. AMAZING SERVICE. IM ONE HAPPY LADY 😊
Absolute agony!! Went in for a full set, wasn’t asked to go wash my hands so all the dust got pushed into my nails, looking terrible. The woman doing my nails was squeezing so hard i had to ask her to stop hurting me, she didn’t, to get to my thumb she twisted my entire hand and im watching the rest of the nail techs they wasn’t squeezing until there nails was white with pressure. Reached out to the salon via Facebook no reply. Nails wasn’t applied straight which even she noticed. I started experiencing pain and my partner removed one, she has applied so much pressure my real nails are growing into my skin. Wake up this morning one of my real nails are hanging off attached to the acrylic nail. Nail art couldn’t even be colour matched she did blue and green and left me no option as “they didn’t have the colour” and as you can see in photos it’s terrible. Salon will not respond, disgusting and disrespectful people, leaving customers in pain and costing them there real nails.
Extremely Disappointed with the Service I had a pedicure appointment at New York Nails for 11:15 AM, and what I experienced was beyond unprofessional and frustrating. When I arrived, the technician assigned to me was sitting in a chair getting her own nails done by a co-worker — not exactly a good start. She asked me to wait a few minutes, which I didn’t mind, but it was still not a great first impression. Once we went upstairs, she was sweet and bubbly, which I appreciated — but unfortunately, friendliness doesn’t make up for poor quality work. She rushed through my pedicure: barely five minutes spent on scrubbing both feet, no proper exfoliation, and my feet were still rough afterward. For £40, I expected basic standards of cleanliness and care. After I expressed my concerns, she tried again, but it still felt rushed and incomplete. The real issues began when it was time to paint my nails. I requested French tips with a clear base, but she struggled repeatedly to get them right. The white tips were way too thick and uneven. I had to remind her multiple times that I didn’t want my nails over-filed because it makes them sensitive, yet she continued filing over and over due to her mistakes, leaving my nails sore and thin. Eventually, she gave up and handed me off to another technician without clearly explaining what I wanted. The new technician didn’t ask me anything, she just started painting my toes with a pink coat, which I had specifically said I didn’t want. I had to correct her, and again she had to file down my nails multiple times to fix the errors, further damaging them. Even after that, the polish was uneven, discolored, and just looked messy. I was there from 11:15 AM to 1:30 PM, with no apologies, no accountability, and definitely no professionalism. This was hands down one of the worst salon experiences I’ve ever had. Poor communication, poor technique, and no sense of customer care. Are they hiring trainees without proper training and just letting them practice on paying customers? It certainly felt that way. And to top it all off, I was charged full price for a service that was clearly substandard. I do not recommend New York Nails and will not be returning. Save your time, money, and your nails.
