Got an online quote yesterday morning, for the rest of the day they spammed my phone with calls. This morning when I could answer, the woman on the phone was literally trying to pressure me to reserve, so for point that I needed the storage but I also wanted to end the harassment, I said ok and Very quickly it went from £7.75 for 12 weeks to £60 a month and her excuse was "this is a ground floor one". I got ungraded GCSE's but I'm certain this is not how any businesses should treat it's customers. Very strange behaviour.
Made the right choice by choosing ready steady store to store my luggage while being away for a bit. Nick was very helpful helping me access my storage and settling in.
Not suitable for students or anyone needing same-day, after-hours access. I booked a 50 sq ft unit on 5 Sept in the afternoon. £10 was taken from my card, and shortly after I left the site I received their own email confirming my payment setup, yet the automated gate never let me in, and there was no clear error. After around 15–20 minutes on hold, support alternated between “contact your bank” and “your ID didn’t pass,” contradicting the process I had just completed. There was no temporary access or on-site override, so I was left outside with 10+ items as it got dark. I paid for multiple Ubers and an emergency hotel. The next morning I even received an “overdue” text despite never being allowed in. The company later refused compensation, blaming me for “not completing the process,” which conflicts with their own confirmation email. If you need reliable after-hours entry or a user-friendly, fail-safe process with human backup, consider another provider. (I have their confirmation email, the overdue text, Uber receipts and the hotel invoice.)
Ready steady store offered a good sized unit with easy access at a reasonable price. Chris was very helpful and was always available to help with my questions or requests.
The member of staff who dealt with me was welcoming, positive and very helpful to someone new to a storage facility.
