Here now good location from train station and to the city centre , all within walking distance , lovely welcome from staff on reception,. 0nce in our room .noticed not anywhere to store clothes ( lived out of suitcases) Booked familyroom for 3 'nowhere to swing a cat!!! , key kept refusing to work , the noise from the street was awful we were in room 103 no sleep for 2 nights ,horrendous night club was afew doors down , people going home screaming shouting arguing , cars racing up and down , this went on until 5am 'breakfast was nice what there was there but not been replenish- Our stay was £420 for the room for 2 nights and breakfast was extra . We have been ci ing to york fir a long time and it is a beautiful city! But will not stay here again !
Checked in for 4 nights. Room smelled damp, and stains on the chair. It also must have been below a storage space because all night there were voices and people moving things upstairs. Maintenance work started at 7am like hammering and drilling etc. Also, my room key stopped working every time I left the hotel. This meant I couldn’t leave without having to come back and ask for a new one - this is so tedious, especially when nobody is one reception. Breakfast was great and location is perfect, plus staff are quite nice and friendly.
I have raised a complaint since my stay as when we were in bed at night someone attempted to gain entry to our room. They then attended again with a member of reception and tried again. I opened the door to be met by a member of staff and two women who had been allocated our room despite us only checking in a few hours earlier. As their key had been programmed to our room, ours was then unusable. I raised a complaint with the manager and customer services team. The customer service team have responded advising that as I didn't book the room they would not dicuss my complaint with me despite the room being in my name. My mum booked the rooms and has since had to emai her authority for them to discuss my complaint. I have tried to contact them again since and get an automated reply advising they will not discuss my complaint. I have heard nothing from the manager since either. Thus is a serious security breach and I wouldn't recommend this travelodge to anyone. I had a family member with me who is very anxious and was unable to sleep for the rest of the night. The ladies who were allocated our room were very embarrassed and told us that was the second room they had been given and the first room they walked into had a case, clothes and valuables in but the occupier was out! Absolutely shocking!!!
Upgrade your room they are much better. Breakfast is the same ever day but works out cheaper than buying out. Plus it's a eat what you want. So worth booking We had a 5 nights here. Really good location. Free blue badge parking behind hotel
Lovely, clean standard twin room with a lovely view of York Minster (Room 210). Staff were lovely, Anastasia was very helpful. Breakfast was good and a perfect start to the day! Literally a short walk to the shambles and plenty of places to eat and drink! Would stay again!
