Description Directions Take 1 tablet between 30 minutes and 1 hour before sex. Never take more than 1 tablet within 24 hours. Works best on an empty stomach or after a low-fat meal. Alcohol will limit Vardenafil's effectiveness. Do not combine Vardenafil with other ED medicines. Sudden decrease or loss of hearing has been reported. Cases of sudden death, fast or altered heart beat, heart attack, chest pain, and trouble in cerebral circulation (including temporarily decreased blood flow to parts of the brain and bleeding in the brain) have been reported in men taking vardenafil. Most of the men who experienced these side effects had heart problems before taking this medicine. It is not possible to determine whether these events were directly related to vardenafil. Ingredients FAQs How effective is Vardenafil? Vardenafil 10 mg treats ED in up to 87% of cases. Most men find it works quicker than other ED treatments. If you have eaten a high-fat meal or drunk more than 1-2 units of alcohol, you may find it takes longer to work or is less effective. We advise trying an ED treatment 8 times before giving up, considering a higher dose, or seeking an alternative. Vardenafil's strength and dosage The standard dose is 10 mg. Depending on your age, height and weight, the cause and the severity of your ED, you may be prescribed a lower dose of 5 mg, or a higher one of 20 mg. Dosage does not affect how quickly or for how long the treatment works. Higher doses come with an increased chance of developing side effects. Drug interactions with Vardenafil If you take alpha-blockers (such as doxazosin or tamsulosin), you should wait at least 6 hours between taking those and taking Vardenafil. You will be unsuitable for Vardenafil if you are taking nicorandil or nitrates, such as GTN spray or isosorbide mononitrate tablets to treat angina. It is important that you let us know which prescription, over-the-counter medicines and recreational drugs you are taking so that we can prescribe Vardenafil safely. Alternative ED treatments Some men find counselling helpful as a means of exploring and treating psychological causes for ED.FAQs
