Flourite Sand from Seachem is a specially crushed, stable, porous clay gravel for the naturally planted aquarium. Its appearance is best suited to planted natural aquariums, but can be used in any freshwater aquarium. The sand is most effective when used alone as an integral substrate. As Flourite sand is a natural product, it can become dusty during transport despite pre-washing and must be rinsed to remove dust residues before use. Pour the water into the aquarium slowly so as not to disturb the substrate bed of Flourite Sand. Place a bowl in the aquarium and pour water directly into the bowl so that the water gently overflows onto the gravel bed. Some initial turbidity is normal. Use mechanical filtration (e.g. with filter floss) to remove turbidity.
