If you’ve never tried a sparkling wine from New Zealand before, now’s your chance! Awatere River’s great recognition is thanks to the Vavasour family, who have triumphed the valley for over 100 years. The first to grow grapes in the region, they definitely know a thing or two about making great wine. Carved out by glaciers long ago, the Awatere Valley’s unique topography and cool, dry climate, brings a flinty minerality and vibrant acidity to the wines. This sparkling wine is made using the traditional method like Champagne and used a blend of the famous three grapes too. Expect flavours of fresh berries, white peach, toasted hazelnuts, and citrus. Enjoy as an apéritif, with seafood or fish and chips.
