Retribution Distilling Single Malt English Whisky #2

Retribution Single Malt English Whisky is made from the same new make spirit as the first release, Retribution Distilling's 2nd Release of their Single Malt whisky has been aged in an ex Buffalo Trace Bourbon quarter cask for 3 years 4 months.. Big notes of orange/citrus and vanilla on the nose with Retribution's characteristic thick creamy mouth feel with a slight warming pepperiness to the finish.. Alex's Tasting Note: Creme Brûlée and marshmallow on the nose with a hint of lime peel. Opens up to peaches and cream. There is a super attractive lemon sherbert freshness in the mouth balanced with gentle malt flavours. Very harmonious and smooth given the 53.3% strength. The whisky opens up further with water revealing more ripe green appley fruit, vanilla notes... toffee even, and a pinch of szechuan pepper. Very complex and moreish, especially given its age!. In response to customer feedback, Rich, the Distiller, has reduced the alc. down from release PR001 to a respectable 53.3% to allow it to open up and be even more approachable.. It really is amazing the impact the previous bourbon producers liquid can have on the whisky. With only 170 bottles of this actually produced, this is very limited availability indeed..
