Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is a family-run Burgundy winery operating as a negociant-eleveur (merchant and owner). The estate, considered among the most prestigious in the region, extends across approximately 50 hectares of vineyards, over half of which are located in the grand cru appellations of the Côte d'Or. The Pinot Noir grapes are sourced from vineyards averaging 30 years old, located in the prestigious Vosne-Romanée appellation in the Côte de Nuits on clayey, ferruginous soils. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place traditionally in open vats, and the finished wine then ages for approximately one year in medium-toasted French oak barrels (20% new). Louis Latour's Vosne-Romanée is an elegant and seductive wine that expresses all the finesse of its terroir. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby color and an aromatic profile rich with notes of blackcurrant, black cherry, underbrush, violets, and spices, with hints of mocha in the background. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, fresh and concentrated with silky tannins and a smooth texture. The lively acidity creates a perfect balance. The finish is long and recalls notes of underbrush. It is perfect with beef stew with porcini mushrooms or venison in red fruit sauce.
