You can’t talk about Barossa wine producers without a mention for Peter Lehmann, a master of diversity and quality that hand-tends more than 800 vineyards across all the area’s sub regions. With 33 vintages already under his belt, Peter founded the label in 1979 to help process the year’s glut of local grapes – his efforts are credited with saving many old vineyards from ruin. Now The Barossan range showcases quintessential wine styles from Australia’s most famous viticultural area. This award-winning Chardonnay was aged for nine months on its lees to develop complex notes of peach, nectarine, nutmeg, almond and lemon curd. Pair it with roast chicken, pan-fried fish or a mild creamy curry.
