This eye-catching pattern is inspired by one of the many 'paisley' designs assembled in its collection by the V&A created by George Haité in the 1850s. Inspired by traditional Indian 'boteh' motifs, Haite's shawl patterns were a fashionable item of women's clothing in the 19th century, made popular by Queen Victoria.
