Sardinian Bottarga - Cured Grey Mullet Roe

This little treat packs a punch so a little goes a long way Try it grated over pasta! Vacuum packed, (chilled) Bottarga is compressed roe of the thin lipped grey mullet (thick-lipped just can't cut it). It's a rich delicacy - made all around the Mediterranean - best eaten in tiny slices drizzled or blended with olive oil, cayenne pepper and lemon juice, and served with cold white wine as a pre-prandial nibble. This product is chilled (not frozen) and will have a best before date at least a month ahead.  We do also have the Greek Bottarga available here . It's showier, pricier and packaged to kill.
