Jackson's Smooth Wooden Panels Are Made Of Smooth, Sanded Light Plywood, Reinforced On The Reverse To Prevent Warping. Sturdy Yet Lightweight, They Are Perfect For Plein Air Painting Projects And Work In The Studio.These Panels Are Made From Wood And They Are Not Supplied Sealed. This Means That Liquids Are Absorbed Into The Surface And If They Get Too ‘wet’, There Could Be A Swelling Of The Veneer. If The Panel Is To Be Used For Painting Then You Should Seal The Surface With A Quality Glue Size Or An Acrylic-based Primer. When You're Applying Acrylic Gesso Primer, Avoid Thinning It With Water.After Sizing We Recommend Priming With Acrylic Gesso And Sanding The Surface To Produce A Smooth Yet Slightly Absorbent Surface.Jackson's Panels Can Also Be Used For Encaustic Painting, Or As A Work Support/drawing Board.These Panels Are Available In Two Profile Depths: 50mm And 20mm. This Is The Distance From Which The Painted Surface Projects From The Wall.On Both Profiles, The Width Of The Cradling Is 32mm (that Is, The Cradling Extends 32mm In From Each Side Of The Panel On The Back).As Well As Being Used With Oil And Acrylic Paints, These Panels Are Also Practical For Encaustic Painting.
