Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in the village of Monthelie, bordering Meursault, Volnay, and Auxey-Duresses, in the heart of the Côte Sud de Beaune, Domaine Potinet-Ampeau extends across approximately 10 hectares of vineyards averaging 30 years old, equally divided between white and red varietals. The estate is family-run, and the work in the vineyard and cellar is carried out using traditional Burgundian methods. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the prestigious, sustainably farmed Ampeau vineyard. After manual selection and harvest, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks to preserve the grapes' aromatic character and freshness. The finished wine then rests on the lees before bottling. The result is an elegant Puligny Montrachet, the quintessential expression of this appellation and of Burgundy white wines. In the glass, it reveals a deep, straw yellow color. Its aromatic profile is broad and multifaceted, with floral and citrus notes on a mineral undertone. On the palate, it is rich, balanced, and rounded. It has a medium body and lively acidity. The long finish evokes distinctive mineral notes. Try it with scallops in white wine, roast chicken with lemon and herbs, or grilled sweetbreads.
