Hailing from the Lodi wine region of California, this area benefits from a Mediterranean climate with hot days and cool nights. The Sacramento River Delta brings 'delta breezes' that provide natural air conditioning. A dry growing season means warm days and cool evening breezes, which offer ideal growing conditions that lead to full-flavored wines. Vineyards are planted in either fine sandy loam soils, or higher clay-base soils that produce well-structured wines with intense fruit flavors and rich silky texture. With these Classically California wines, Bread & Butter prides itself on delivering consistency in wine style, all about approachability and easy-drinking. Bread & Butter's house style is fruit-forward, delicious, and smooth; delivering the true character of the fruit the wine is made from. Summing up their ethos is award-winning Veteran Winemaker Linda Trotta, who says, “A good wine is a wine you like." This is what Bread & Butter is all about. The grapes are fermented for 10 days in stainless steel tanks and aged using French and American oak for 5 months. On the nose you’ll find juicy red berry flavours such as red currants and raspberry. Oak aging makes the flavours deeper and more complex with underlying peppery notes. Expect milk chocolate, sweet baking spices, and a sweet round finish. Pair it with a juicy beef burger, pork ribs, halloumi and roasted vegetables skewers.
