Product Description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Boutari is a historic Greek winery founded in the late 1800s by Ioannis Boutari in Naoussa. Over the past 150 years or so, the company has expanded significantly, adding vineyards and cellars on the islands of Crete and Santorini, as well as in Goumenissa, Mantinia, and Attica. Boutari Wineries, now part of the Sterner Stenhus Greece group, is internationally renowned for its excellent wines that reflect ancient Greek winemaking traditions, yet with a modern approach. The Assyrtiko grapes for this wine are harvested by hand and subjected to cold maceration before fermentation at a controlled temperature. The wine then rests in steel tanks on the lees before bottling. The low temperatures and inert containers guarantee the full aromatic development of the wine and preserve its fresh character. The wine reveals a clear and bright color with pale yellow tones and a lively and fresh aromatic profile with lemony notes of quince and jasmine, hints of Mediterranean herbs, and fennel. On the palate, it is concentrated and crisp, soft and lean with a brisk, lemony acidity that persists for a long time in the thirst-quenching finish. It is excellent as a refreshing aperitif, with seafood, Greek salads based on feta, and grilled vegetables.
