Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant. Maison Louis Picamelot is a historic Burgundy winery founded in 1926 in Rully and now managed by Philippe Chautard, grandson of Louis Picamelot. Today the estate extends across approximately 17 hectares of vineyards and produces excellent Crémant de Bourgogne wines, including single-vineyard wines. Produced for the first time in 2018, Crémant de Bourgogne En Espoutières is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a single historic vineyard once owned by the monks of the Prieure de Bonvaux, located near the Ecrin des Climats area in the municipality of Talant. After manual harvesting and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the wine rests on its lees for three years before disgorging and dosage with liqueur d'expedition. The result is an elegant wine with a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, the wine reveals a fragrant bouquet with notes of apple, pear and peach, hints of hazelnut and brioche, and a citrus and floral undertone. On the palate, it is ample, generous, and round, with a pleasant creaminess generated by the fine and persistent bubbles. It is fresh and succulent, with a long finish that recalls mineral notes. Try it with sushi, pasta with clams, and shrimp tempura.
