Product Description
Drink it now. No need to decant. Established in 1981, the Ktima Gerovassiliou winery is located about 25 km southwest of Thessaloniki, and covers 2.5 hectares in the Papamola region of Epanomi. Today, in his vineyards Vangelis Gerovassiliou grows vines of Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Viognier. The red grape varieties include Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, and the indigenous Limnio, Mavroudi, Mavrotragano. The region is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot summers cooled by the sea breezes. Ktima Gerovassiliou Malagousia is produced with 100% Malagousia grapes, the long-forgotten indigenous vine that Vangelis himself saved from oblivion and vinified while working at the illustrious Domaine Porto Carras, one of the most prestigious wineries in Greece. This delicious white wine is a perfect summer drink. In the glass, it shows a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of fruity notes in which pear, mango, and lychee stand out, followed by floral scents. The body is sufficiently structured, and the taste is fresh and balanced by juicy notes of ripe fruit. It has a pleasant and persistent aftertaste. It is the ideal wine to combine with vegetarian recipes, white meat or fish, especially baked sea bass. Enjoy it chilled at 12°C.
