It is commonly prescribed for chronic conditions like arthritis and acute musculoskeletal injuries, as well as for reducing post-operative discomfort following surgery. What Is Metacam Used For? Metacam is suitable for: Chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as arthritis Acute musculoskeletal injuries Pain and inflammation following soft tissue surgery in cats and guinea pigs Post-operative care after orthopaedic surgery in cats Active Ingredient Meloxicam This suspension provides anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for inflammation and pain. How to Administer Metacam Metacam should be given orally, either directly into the mouth or mixed with food. For cats, use the measuring syringe or drop dispenser included in the packaging For guinea pigs, a dosing dish and syringe are available Always follow your vet’s instructions and shake the bottle well before use. Important Safety Information Do not use Metacam in: Kittens younger than 6 weeks old Pregnant or lactating cats Cats or guinea pigs with liver, kidney, gastrointestinal, or heart issues If your pet shows any signs of an adverse reaction such as vomiting, diarrhoea, or loss of appetite, stop the treatment and consult your vet immediately.
