Product Description
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Tchotiashvili is a Georgian winery with a long family tradition, dating back to the 18th century and still run by brothers Kakha and Ucha. In 2002, the company introduced rare grape varieties to its vineyards and initiated a process of expansion and technological renewal to produce high-quality wines for the modern market, utilizing traditional production techniques. Tchotiashvili Rkatsiteli Rcheuli Qvevri is made with indigenous Rkatsiteli grapes from Kakheti, a highly regarded winemaking region where wine has been made since ancient times. Vinification occurs spontaneously on the skins in large, buried clay containers according to the traditional Georgian qvevri method. The result is a complex wine with a distinctive aromatic profile. In the glass, the wine reveals a golden color verging on amber. On the nose, a complex bouquet opens with notes of apricot, peach, and quince, followed by hints of wildflowers and honey on a slightly earthy background. On the palate, it is rich, smooth, and full-bodied, like all qvevri-aged wines. It has a distinct minerality and a pleasant concentration of fruit with vaguely sweet notes balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long with hints of tannins. It is the ideal wine for Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine.
