Clairefontaine Etival Black Watercolour Paper is a 100% cellulose paper with two different grains. One side of the paper has a cold pressed grain, the other side has a rough grain. The black surface of this 300gsm paper is ideal for working with metallic and pearlescent colours. Suitable for use with watercolour paint as well as watercolour pencils.Clairefontaine actively participates in the development of French forests, by managing several hundred hectares of fir and spruce trees in the Vosges mountains. With regards to the paper mill itself in the Etival Clairefontaine region, it is still as dynamic 150 years after its conception. Self-sufficient for 80% of its own biological installations for water treatment, and has been awarded a 'Water trophy' by the State. This is an A4 pad containing 15 sheets of black watercolour paper.
