Speedball's Gel Plates have been specifically designed for the printing technique, monoprinting, with the use of water-soluble inks rather than acrylic paints. Their unique formulation, combined with a higher tack to the surface, and being firmer than other gel places allow printmaking ink artists to achieve incredible detail in their printing image, with less slip of the colour. To prolong the life of your gel plates, ensure that you use soap and water to clean off the printing inks, and store the plates in their clamshell packaging when not in use, which will protect your plates from scratching, and prevents any dust and lint sticking to the surface. Do not stack plates against each other.
