Pegasus Nautilus 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Plastic Model Kit A new detailed model kit of Jules Verne’s Nautilus Submarine. Modelled in 1:144 scale, this kit's design is taken from the descriptions of the craft from the original books of Jules Verne with a few added extra touches by the artists at Pegasus Hobbies. The Nautilus is described by Verne as "a masterpiece containing masterpieces." It is designed and commanded by Captain Nemo, with electricity provided by sodium / mercury batteries (with the sodium provided by extraction from seawater) serving as the craft's primary power source for propulsion and other services. The Nautilus is double-hulled, and is further separated into water-tight compartments. Its top speed is 50 knots with a displacement of 1,356.48 French freight tons emerged (1,507 submerged). Includes detailed interior, photo-etch parts, squid display base and logo plaque. Scale - 1:144 Model dimensions: 320 x 190 x 60mm approx. Starter Paint Pack Includes: 9 x 17ml Vallejo model paints. Vallejo paints are supplied in plastic bottles of 17ml with an eyedropper device which keeps paint from drying and prevents spills.
