EC Lyons Etching Tools Burnishers Are Made From High-carbon Tool Steel And Are Designed For Use In Traditional Printmaking Techniques Where Precise Plate Correction Is Required. Burnishers Are Used To Flatten Areas Of A Metal Plate In Order To Remove Engraved Or Etched Lines, Effectively Erasing Marks From The Surface. For Correct Use, The Belly Of The Tool Just Below The Tip Should Be Applied To The Plate, Rather Than The Very End Of The Tool, To Achieve Smooth And Controlled Results.
