ABOUT THE WINE. Saxenburg Wine Estate, located in the heart of Stellenbosch’s Polkadraai Hills, is one of South Africa’s most distinctive wine producers. Originally established in 1693, the modern chapter of the estate began in 1989 when Adrian and Birgit Bührer relocated from Switzerland to breathe new life into the estate. Now led by second-generation custodians Fiona and Vincent Bührer, Saxenburg is focused on highlighting the exceptional terroir of Polkadraai Hills — a region known for producing premium, expressive wines. Crafted from select sandstone and granite vineyard parcels, this Stellenbosch Chardonnay is a seamless balance of oak texture and natural freshness.
